Pain management is a crucial part of cancer care, as most cancer patients experience moderate to severe pain at some point in their cancer journey. Opioids are commonly used for cancer pain management, but they come with several challenges and risks including addiction and misuse.
JOGO is changing this through a pain management technique that offers relief without the risks of opioids. Help us bring drug-free pain relief to those who need it most – cancer patients battling every day.

Pain is one of the most common and challenging symptoms for cancer patients, often leading them to seek emergency care. It can be caused by the cancer itself, treatments, or a combination of factors. Some cancers, like bone cancer, pancreatic cancer, and head and neck cancers, are known to cause particularly severe pain due to tumor location, tissue damage, and nerve involvement.
Right now, opioids are the go-to treatment for cancer pain, but they come with serious risks, including addiction and reduced effectiveness over time. That’s why new, innovative pain management solutions are urgently needed.
One promising approach is Electromyographic (EMG) Biofeedback, a technique that helps patients reduce muscle tension and break the pain-anxiety-muscle tension cycle. Using small sensors and visual feedback through an app, patients can learn to relax their muscles, leading to long-term pain relief—without the risks of opioids. Clinical studies have even shown better outcomes with EMG biofeedback compared to opioids for cancer pain.
However, traditional biofeedback systems are bulky, time-consuming to set up, and require frequent visits to a cancer center. That’s where JOGO comes in. JOGO’s FDA-approved, portable EMG biofeedback system is designed for home use, takes just two minutes to set up, and is covered by insurance for treating cancer pain and incontinence. By making biofeedback therapy accessible and convenient, JOGO is paving the way for a smarter, safer way to manage cancer pain.
Even though JOGO is FDA-cleared and covered by insurance, it’s not yet a standard part of clinical workflows or widely available at cancer clinics for pain management. With the right support, we can change that!
The funds raised will go toward piloting JOGO at Regional Cancer Care Associates and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where they are eager to test its feasibility. This is an exciting step toward making JOGO more accessible to cancer patients who need better, opioid-free pain relief.
Most cancer centers are already stretched thin, making it tough for them to adopt new pain management solutions without extra support. To successfully introduce JOGO, we need to provide a dedicated team to help integrate it into their workflow.
Here’s what it takes to make it happen:
With this team in place, we can ensure a smooth rollout at cancer centers, making JOGO accessible to more patients who need effective, opioid-free pain relief.
We’re excited to share that JOGO has acquired the cancer pain management protocol validated by Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. On top of that, we’ve received funding from Mayo Clinic and other investors who believe in the power of our clinical research.
Our EHR infrastructure is already set up, and we’ve developed comprehensive clinical and technical training protocols to ensure a smooth and effective rollout. We’re ready to bring JOGO’s innovative pain management solution to the patients who need it most!
JOGO is currently backed by angel investors and venture capital firms, and we’re excited to expand our impact even further! Securing non-dilutive funding from non-profits helps attract additional support from impact-driven angel investors who are eager to match these contributions.
We’ll be working with our existing impact investors, like the Global Impact Fund and TeamFund, to maximize every dollar raised—bringing JOGO’s innovative pain management solution to even more patients in need!
Unmanaged pain can take a huge toll on cancer patients, making it harder for them to go through treatment and enjoy meaningful moments with their loved ones. That’s why effective pain management is such an essential part of comprehensive cancer care.
If JOGO doesn’t reach the patients who need it, many will be left with opioids as their only option—a solution that comes with serious risks and can even complicate cancer treatment. We can’t let that happen. Every patient deserves safe, effective pain relief, and with the right support, we can make that a reality.

His positions included in-patient and out-patient PT and part time PT in the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. Gary was an active researcher, conducting studies on EMG biofeedback for post-CVA patients (in collaboration with Dr. Joseph Brudny) and transcutaneous nerve stimulation for chronic pain. He also received advanced training and mentoring in the electrodiagnostic department, where he performed and trained medical residents on diagnostic EMG. Before returning to NYC and Hunter College, Gary moved to Connecticut to serve as Chief of Physical Therapy at Norwalk Hospital. In the Hunter PT Program, he taught clinical neurology, adult neurological rehabilitation, electroneuromyography, and therapeutic exercise. He has published in various peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on various areas related to physical therapy, with an emphasis on neurology-based topics. He has been involved in multiple design versions of the EMG biofeedback system that is today JOGO – Gx. Gary is also certified as a Schroth scoliosis therapist.
