How Can I Contribute?

ou can directly and transparently contribute any dollar amount of your choice.

  • Support a cancer-fighting campaign: Choose a cancer-fighting campaign that inspires you and indicate where you would like your contribution to make an impact.

  • Support an independent artist: Contribute by supporting the fundraising goal of your favorite independent artist(s). Funds raised by our partnered artists help support the Community Mega Fund, which matches contributions to cancer-fighting campaigns.

  • Support the Community Mega Fund: Contribute any amount to the Community Mega Fund, dedicated to matching contributions to our cancer-fighting campaigns, dollar for dollar.

  • Choice and transparency: All donors receive the same level of choice, transparency, and updates about the campaigns they support.

A note about donor preferences: Music Beats Cancer is a 501(c)(3) public charity. While donors may indicate a preference for a particular campaign or innovation, all contributions are made to Music Beats Cancer, which retains exclusive legal control and discretion over the use of charitable funds. Donor preferences are considered by Music Beats Cancer, but do not create a legal obligation to fund a particular company, project, or campaign. Music Beats Cancer independently determines how contributions are used in furtherance of its charitable mission and applicable charitable purposes.

Is There A Minimum for Donation?

No. Every dollar can make a difference.

You can contribute any dollar amount to a cancer-fighting campaign of your choice, the Music Beats Cancer Community Mega Fund, or your favorite independent artist(s).

Donations can be made by credit card, PayPal, Venmo, or through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF). Contributions to a campaign accrue toward its fundraising goal, helping promising cancer-fighting innovations move closer to the next critical milestone.

There is no minimum donation – whether it’s $5, $50, or $5,000, every contribution helps.

How Long Do Campaigns Run?

Each Music Beats Cancer campaign runs for 90 days.

We encourage donors to contribute during the campaign period. Once a campaign expires, new donations will no longer accrue toward that campaign’s fundraising goal.

What Happens if a Project Doesn’t Reach its Goal?

Music Beats Cancer operates a flexible crowdfunding model. All funds raised during a campaign are eligible for disbursement, regardless of whether the campaign reaches its stated fundraising goal. Before funds are disbursed, they are subject to applicable fees, completion of any required agreements, and a final determination by our Board of Directors that the proposed use of the funds aligns with our charitable mission and compliance standards. As with all contributions, our nonprofit retains variance power and exclusive legal control over donated funds. This means we may redirect funds, at our sole discretion, to further our charitable purposes when the original campaign purpose cannot be accomplished or when circumstances require an alternative charitable use.

If a Campaign Does Not Reach Its Goal
If a campaign does not meet its stated fundraising goal, the funds raised during the campaign period remain eligible for disbursement to the designated campaign, subject to applicable fees, required agreements, and our determination that the proposed use aligns with our charitable mission and compliance standards. Donations will not be refunded solely because a campaign does not reach its fundraising goal. If the original campaign purpose cannot be accomplished, we may redirect the funds to another charitable purpose that supports our mission, in accordance with our legal and compliance obligations.

If a Campaign Meets or Exceeds Its Goal
If a campaign meets or exceeds its stated fundraising goal, all funds raised, including amounts collected above the stated goal, remain eligible for disbursement. Disbursement is subject to applicable fees, completion of required agreements, and our determination that the use of the funds aligns with our charitable mission and compliance standards. If funds raised exceed the amount reasonably needed to accomplish the campaign’s charitable purpose, we may, at our sole discretion, redirect excess funds toward other charitable purposes consistent with our mission.

Our Commitment to Donors
All contributions are received and controlled by our nonprofit for charitable purposes. While we seek to honor the intended purpose of each campaign, Music Beats Cancer retains exclusive legal control and variance power over all donated funds to ensure that contributions are ultimately used in furtherance of our charitable mission and applicable legal and compliance requirements.

How do I Know That Campaigns are Credible and Worthy of Donations?

Music Beats Cancer conducts a vetting process for every biotech company seeking to raise funds on our platform. We look for companies that demonstrate a strong scientific foundation, address an unmet need in cancer care, and have a credible path toward achieving meaningful product-development milestones.

We review information provided by each company, including its technology, development milestone, funding needs, key team members, scientific publications and other supporting materials. Approved campaigns are then presented to donors in accessible, transparent language so they can make informed decisions about the innovations they wish to support.

While our vetting process is designed to identify promising cancer-fighting innovations, it does not guarantee future success. Biotech development is inherently uncertain, and not every promising technology will ultimately reach patients. Our role is to provide a thoughtful and transparent assessment of innovations that we believe have the potential to make a meaningful difference in cancer care.

Are Donations Tax Deductible

Yes. Music Beats Cancer is a 501(c)(3) public charity, and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by U.S. law.

Our federal tax identification number is 45-4642925.

After your donation is received, you will receive an electronic receipt confirming the amount and date of your contribution, Music Beats Cancer’s tax identification number, and our charitable mission for your records.
