The After Party

BreakthroughLive is a high-energy showcase of “breakthrough” artists who stand in support of breakthrough innovations in the fight against cancer. Designed for attendees of BIO 2026 in San Diego, the event will feature our Breakthrough Artists Initiative performers as the opening act for BIO’s Monday night “Give Back” concert at Waterfront Park. Through music, we are raising awareness and critical support for early-stage biotech companies working to overcome the “Valley of Death” and bring life-saving treatments to patients. Join us afterward for an exclusive After Party! An evening of networking, food & beverages, and a red carpet meet-and-greet with our breakthrough artists. This special gathering brings together innovators, supporters, and performers in a unique setting where culture meets science, and meaningful connections help move breakthroughs forward.

Featured Breakthrough Artists

Austyns Stancil is an Oakland-born artist whose music is deeply rooted in purpose, resilience, and personal loss. Following his father’s battle with colon cancer, Austyns has channeled his grief into powerful performances that honor his father’s legacy and raise awareness for the fight against cancer. Music became both his refuge and his voice, allowing him to connect with audiences through authenticity and healing. As a supporter of Music Beats Cancer, he uses his platform to inspire action, community, and hope. Whether on national stages or in intimate settings, Austyns brings a message of strength and impact to every performance.

Alyssa Raghu is a Billboard-charting artist and American Idol alum whose music blends vulnerability, strength, and emotional authenticity. As a proud West Indian and Mexican artist, she draws deeply from her cultural roots and personal experiences to create music that resonates across generations.

Alyssa’s passion for empowering women and inspiring resilience was profoundly shaped by the loss of her grandmother to breast cancer. That experience became a defining force in her life, strengthening her belief in the power of family, perseverance, and hope in the face of adversity.

Through her music and platform, Alyssa channels that spirit into uplifting others, reminding audiences that even through loss and hardship, healing and strength are possible.

 Jesse Kinch is a Long Island–born singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his powerful vocals and emotionally driven performances. A brain cancer survivor, Jesse channels his journey into music that resonates with strength, resilience, and hope. Since winning ABC’s Rising Star, he has performed globally and shared stages with major artists, using his platform to connect deeply with audiences. His collaboration with Music Beats Cancer reflects a personal commitment to turning survivorship into impact. Through every performance, Jesse uses music not just to entertain, but to inspire and advance the fight against cancer.

Mellow Man Ace
(Cypress Hill)

Mellow Man Ace is a pioneering Cuban-American hip-hop artist whose music helped bring Latino voices, culture, and lived experiences into the mainstream. As an original founding member of Cypress Hill and one of the first successful bilingual rappers, he helped create a powerful cultural platform that resonated with underserved communities often overlooked in media and public discourse. Through his work, Mellow Man Ace has demonstrated how music can build community, foster representation, and inspire conversations around social issues that directly impact health and well-being. His legacy continues to influence artists and advocates who use culture and storytelling to drive awareness, connection, and positive community impact.

Our After Party brings together a dynamic and mission-driven crowd from across the biotech ecosystem. Open exclusively to BIO concertgoers with Premium and General Access registrations, the evening will welcome biotech executives, academic researchers, patient advocates, and venture investors. The Venue

Music Box is a premier live music venue located in the heart of Little Italy, just steps from San Diego’s vibrant waterfront. Spanning three distinct levels, the venue features a dynamic main stage floor, elevated mezzanine suites ideal for VIP experiences, and a rooftop deck with sweeping views of the San Diego skyline. Its thoughtfully designed layout offers excellent sightlines and an intimate yet high-energy atmosphere. Just a 7-minute walk from the BIO Gives Back concert at Waterfront Park, it’s the perfect setting for an official after-party. The Music Box creates a unique social experience where live music, networking, and community-building come together seamlessly.
